CLEAR LASIK
Our vast knowledge, experience, and meticulous medical care will exceed your expectations
EyeOnce Clinic Gangnam will give you all the information you need on CLEAR LASIK
NEW Z8 CLEAR LASIK
LASEK
Removal of the corneal epithelial layer
LASIK
A circular incision
CLEAR LASIK
Minimal incision
What is CLEAR LASIK?
CLEAR : Corneal Lenticule Extraction for Advanced Refractive Correction
CLEAR LASIK embodies the qualities of SMILE LASIK, by performing a safe surgery via a small incision, but it is enhanced to the next level with “Advanced Refractive Correction” technology.
Vision correction of the future CLEAR LASIK
ZIEMER FEMTO LDV Z8
- Vision correction technology that exceeds that of LASIK or LASEK
- Personalizable myopia and astigmatism correction
- Impressive speed greater than 5000Khz
- It automatically maps the structure of the eyes
LASEK
The corneal epithelial layer is removed during surgery
1st Gen
LASIK
Parts of the cornea are reshaped during surgery
2nd Gen
SMILE LASIK
Surgery is done with a minimal incision area and no corneal tissue removal
3rd Gen
CLEAR LASIK
With no need to cut the cornea, myopia and astigmatism can be corrected with high precision by adjusting rotation during surgery
4th Gen
ZIEMER FEMTO LDV Z8
During the early 2000s, we shifted away from using blades in vision correction surgery with the emergence of the femtosecond laser and laser eye surgery.
The ZIEMER FEMTO LDV, which started this revolutionary change, continued to develop and CLEAR LASIK was born from the current Z8 version.
The difference of CLEAR LASIK from the ZIEMER FEMTO LDV Z8
1. Fast laser speed and low energy (High Rate & Low Energy)
The shorter surgery duration reduces risk of corneal damage, which allows for quick recovery time and better vision
2. A docking system one step more advanced than traditional fixation methods
Traditional eye fixation methods did not allow movement of the central point, however in this system centration is possible after docking. This upgraded system allows better lenticule separation and extraction to correct vision.
With this software, astigmatism can be corrected for significantly improved vision.
3. Real-time tomography of the eye during surgery (OCT SCAN SYSTEM)
Treatment can be tailored to each individual’s eye and real-time tomography is captured with this system. The pupil center, a complete view of the cornea, and the changes between the lens and the iris can be monitored using this OCT Scan system to find the optimal position for incision.
CLEAR LASIK Surgery Procedure
Lenticule formation
A disc-shaped piece of corneal tissue called a lenticule is created and a small incision is made
Lenticule extraction
The surgeon gently removes the lenticule through a small incision
Vision correction
Removal of the lenticule permanently changes the shape of your cornea, resulting in better vision.
Good Candidates for CLEAR LASIK
Those who normally wear contact lenses for long periods of time
Those hesitant on surgery due to dry-eye syndrome
Those who enjoy outdoor activities and sports
Those afraid of pain
Those who want a fast recovery
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Vision will be improved enough to return to daily life the following day.
Long distance vision will be recovered first and then after time near range vision will be improved as well.
CLEAR LASIK surgery precautions
Discontinue the use of contact lenses
Contact lenses can affect the shape of the cornea and should be discontinued some time prior to surgery. (Hard lenses 2 weeks prior, soft lenses 1 week prior)
Post-surgery Eye protection
For 1 month after surgery, please refrain from rubbing or pressing the eyes. Be cautious of closing eyes shut too hard.
Shower and face cleansing
Washing your face and showering are allowed from the next day.
Precautions when going out
UV blocking glasses are recommended to be worn for around 3 months following surgery
Exercising post-surgery
Light weight training and jogging are allowed from the next day. Skiing and swimming are recommended from 1 week post-surgery.
